It is my pleasure to invite you to the 2017 Annual General Meeting of the Association of Professional Aestheticians of Australia on Friday 8th December 2017. The AGM will be held at the APAA National Office located at 18 Rusty Plum Court, Reedy Creek , Qld 4227 at 6.00pm (Qld time).
The current Directors have ensured that the Association has operated to the highest ethical standards and has taken all steps to ensure that APAA continues to survive well into the future. We can assure you that the commitment of the Directors has been to execute their responsibilities with decorum and integrity for the benefit of the members and for the betterment of the industry. We continue to provide the industry with strong and credible foundation for its continued growth and longevity.
This year THREE of your serving Directors will be re-standing for election. They are:
- Dr Anne-Marie Marynycz – President
- Damien Booth– Treasurer
- Vanessa Howard – Secretary
I encourage you to re-elect past serving Directors who have indicated they wish to stand for re-election. Their proven expertise in contributing to the process of an effective Board environment and the fulfilment of their responsibilities makes them trustworthy candidates. Joining them, the new candidates will contribute to fresh new ideas for the effective governance of the APAA. Please carefully consider your choices and vote accordingly.

The APAA would like to congratulate Kelly Stuart of the Melbourne College of Cosmetic Tattooing for acquiring their National Accreditation as an approved RTO for the provision of Cosmetic Tattoo Services.
The college is a credit to Kelly Stuart and to her accomplished trainers in providing the best service in this modality in Melbourne.
The College provides both Credited and Non-accredited courses to anyone wishing to study this modality.

You may already be aware that a pool of scholarship funding has currently been provisioned for women in the beauty sector to participate in a range of leadership development courses.
Following feedback from stakeholders and creditors, a one week extension to the scholarship nomination cut-off has been approved.

The fee support opportunity provides women with funding of between $3,000 and $8,000 which has to be allocated prior to the end of this financial year (June 30). The grants will not be available for the beauty sector in the foreseeable future.

Women & Leadership Australia (WLA) is administering a national initiative to support the development of female leaders across Australia’s beauty sector.
The initiative is providing women with grants of between $3,000 and $8,000 to enable participation in a range of leadership development programs.
The leadership development programs are part-time and delivered nationally via WLA’s blended learning model. Scholarship funding is strictly limited and has to be allocated prior to the end of this financial year (June 30).
